hi !
can it be that you mixed up two osm datasets ? it seems you have a wrong picture file with this osm file.
i have tried the thing myself and it works all perfectly with my dataset.
can you try an other fresh dataset ?

hi !
did you use the EXCEL sheet which is provided with the OSM import tutorial, about 3/4 down of the page. ?
http://www.procedural.com:9099/help/topic/com.procedural.cityengine.help/html/tutorials/Tutorial_04_Import_Streets/tut04impStreet_02.html
Here is the link also :
http://www.procedural.com/ce_projects/addresources/osm_calculator_5.xls
If you follow these steps you'll succeed !

Hi Matt,
I'm having problems getting my OSM png to align with my imported .osm data as well. This is my workflow:
1. I set the coordinates for the export in OSM.
2. I run the spreadsheet. Note this gives me a true scale lat of: 51.xxx rather than the 'default' 47.xxx recommended in the manual (I've tried both but neither work).
3. I save the OSM data and input the 51.xxx in the True Scale Lat. All other settings on default.
4. I save the PNG from the Mapnik image radio button on the OSM website. I leave the scaling there to the default 1:27500.
5. I import the PNG as a texture layer and use the X/Z Sizes, and X/Z offesets from the spreadsheet. (Chain symbol unchecked).
The result I get is the texture map misaligned just to the north of the street data.
Attached are screenshots from the OSM site and the result I get.
Help much appreciated!
Many thanks
Ravi

Hi Ravi,
good to see you're working with CE again!
I had the same problem, but noticed that you have to change the number of digits behind the comma in the spreadsheet. See the attached picture, then it will work fine!
regards
Katto

Hi Katto and Matt!
Lol, yes, I'm taking a break from housebuilding rules! I increased the number of decimal places in the True Scale Lat box from 5 to 6, but I'm still getting the same error (the texture map is just a little bit due north of the network and the texture map also looks like it's a little bit too small as well.
Not sure what else to try!

Not sure if this helps, but I adjusted the texture map manually. The texture map is sized correctly and the x offset is correct. It is just the Y offset which is incorrect (about 4 grid squares north of where it should be).
The spreadsheet gave a y offset figure of: -4170061.004 but the corrected figure is -4166001.004 which is a difference of 4096 or so.
cheers
Ravi

Perhaps the picture and OSM data won't match? Try these
