Message	Hi There, I have a windows server 2003 with 3 ArcSDE instance. I am trying to create a 4th one, but what ever the port used (5153 or 5155), when I try to manually start the service I get the following error: Can not start ArcSDE, Check for zombie process. Any help would be much appreciated. Specifications: Windows server 2003 SP2 MS SQL Server 2005 RAM 3.62GB

Message	Try this: Check that the service is not partly configured but not running by sdeservice -o list If it is listed kill it. sdeservice -o delete -i -d SQLSERVER then Navagate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and open "services" with Wordpad. At the bottom you should see the services you have created for SDE. If you see the port you wish to use already on this list delete it. (you can not re-use the same ports for another service without removing them first from this list). Save. Try to re-create your service. Scott Schrader

Message	In post installer - make sure the fields: SQL Server Instance Name ...and... Server Name ...in the "ArcSDE service Information" pane of the "Create SDE Service" step of the post installer, are correct.
