Message Does anyone know if the install media that is shipped with an EDN license agreement differs from the install media a with regular "commercial" license agreement?

I think there is because I've experienced a number of bugs with the EDN install that I have never had with the regular licensing. Specifically the ArcSDE post-install. The repository will not build successfully and the sde_setup.log always ends abruptly on the same line everytime time regardless of the OS or system configuration. "Registering OID column ID on table GDB_ExtensionDatasets" is the last line written to the sde_setup.log every time I run it.

Message Operating System used was Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2008 SP2 (Both on a virtual machine). These are not yet currently supported. As a workaround, the repository was updated using the command prompt (sdesetup -o upgrade) and authorized using (sdesetup -o update_key) commands. This problem was occurring on a Windows 7 platform as well. Would test it when Windows 7 is supported at the production level. This problem was not reproducible on a Windows Xp machine.

'Registering OID column ID on table GDB_ExtensionDatasets' is always the last line in the sde_setup.log (This is a normal behavior unless you perform an upgrade again on the sde repository and it finds it to be at an already acceptable release).

Message Thank you Nimish...

ArcGIS Server 9.3.1 is technically only supported up to Windows Server 2008, Service Pack 1. Correct? Since this is the case, it creates a dilema for our IT staff. Not sure if we should go with 2008, SP1 or wait for ESRI to support 2008 R2.

Any idea when ESRI expects to support Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7 for ArcGIS Server 9.3.1 and ArcGIS Desktop?

Thanks again...

Message Yes ESRI, when will it be supported? I've installed 9.3.1 on Windows 2008 R2 64bit and ArcSDE works great but ArcGIS Server components for IIS 7.5 is a little flaky. It seems as though there would be a workaround but haven't taken the time to see what broke. Virtual directories and users were installed fine but ArcGIS Manager does not run. I have the ASP.net 2.0 working but no luck on the Manager. Anyone figure this out yet?

Message If you want feedback from ESRI, you should ask ESRI (Tech Support
or your local Marketing rep); these are *user* forums.

If you want to discuss workarounds for unsupported ArcGIS Server
configurations, you'd be better off trying in an ArcGIS Server forum
at the top of this conference. Be sure to specify the versions of all
the components in your configuration.
