If you don't have time I would suggest contacting a firm that does this sort of thing on a regular basis, attempting to rush a SDE data load with little or no prep, and little or no experience is a recipe for a poor performing system and unhappy users down the road.
There are numerous "things" you'll need to get up to speed on, but the basics are a firm understanding of the underlying rdbms you are running on top of, the sde system architecture, and some basic networking type stuff. A good place to start would be to attend the ESRI SDE admin class for the database you are running SDE on top of. |
