Message I´ve installed CF Que 1620 in a Ipaq 3970.
It works fine with it's native soft, and the Oziexplorer. I´can't make it works with Arcpad.
When I use Arcpad with an external GPS (etrex) I got no problems. I've tried de find gps extension and I've get the No Data received from GPS message. I think it's a com problem. Can anybody help me?. Thanks.

Message Unfortunately Garmin has not allowed the GPS data to be accessed via the COMM port.

Message Jeff, I think that's not the problem. If OziExplorer can open a comm port to comunicate with the CF, Arcpad also can do it, but that's whats missing, the instruction to open the comm port. I´ve got the same problem with the prior version of Ozi, then I downloaded the last version, and the problem disappear. So Garmin lets comunicate the CF via port comm to other soft. I think thats a problem between the CF and Arcap. Perhaps someone in ESRI can resolve it. Thanks

Message Both the FindGPS and ArcPad use standard Window CE
routines to open, read, write and close the
COM ports. If they can not communicate with
this device then the device did not implement
a standard com port interface, but some
propriertary interface. The OziExplorer
must then being doing special tricks to
communicate with the device through this
proprietary interface.

Does Garmin have any special drivers so
that other software can communicate with their
device through standard COM interface?

Message Joe, you was right. I copied the answer sent by Garmin Tech Support:
"The cfQue will only communicate in a GARMIN proprietary interface. If your
ESRI Arcpad does not support the GARMIN proprietary protocol, it will not
work".

Perhaps in ESRI can make the Arcpad support the Garmin Propietary Protocol, in a nearby future, as Ozi did.
Thanks
