Message	Anybody know how to convert from Mapinfor to shape file(by code not by application). I see the MIF2SHP.exe in Mapobjects directory but I don't know how to use it in Visual Basic 6. Please tell me how to do it. Thanks in advange.

Message	The MIF MID format specification is available "free". I do not know if MIF2SHP can be distributed with an application, but you can "easily" write a conversion program from MIF MID to SHP in VB) have a look at http://www.mapinfo.com/community/free/library/interchange_file.pdf

Message	if you vcan read Avenue Code and translate it into VB, here is some MIF2shp code http://software.geocomm.com/translators/mapinfo/ thre is also http://freegis.org/details.en.html?name=MITAB where you might get good C source code to parse a MIF/MID file sorry I cant do more....
