Message A friend emailed me a garmin .gdb file with routes stored in it, how do I convert it to a shapefile? I have no way of getting a hold of the GPS unit itself.

Thanks

Message The only way that I know to do this is to use Garmin Mapsource software (GDB is a Garmin Database File) and save the route as a dxf file. Then you convert to a shapefile. Unfortunately, you need mapsource in this case.

Message Minnesota Dept. of Natural Resources has a free extension to aid in this task. Check it out:
