Message	I am using ArcCatalog 9.3. The ArcToolBox Window is always empty. When I click the Show/Hide ArcToolbox Window, The ArcToolBox Window show and hide normal but the window is empty, no any tool inside the window. I try to remove all the files under this folder: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\ESRI\ArcCatalog\ After removing the files and start the ArcCatalog, the ArcToolBox can show if click the Show/Hid ArcToolBox window button. However, when close the ArcCatalog and reStart the ArcCatalog again, the ArcToolbox become empty again. Can anyone help me to solve the problem. Thank you.

Message	Sounds like you might have had another version of ArcGIS loaded previously. Usually when I have seen this happen, it was because a dll failed to register correctly, or the newer version of a dll did not get copied correctly during the install. Try uninstalling and reinstalling, or try a repair; If you are going to uninstall then reinstall use this helpful utility. Message	Thank you for you reply. I will try it. I have been using ArcGIS 9.3 for more than half year. It was fine. Only just recently, the ArcToolBox window show up with empty. But I can access the tools from the TOC (content window).

Message	Hi , Did you solve this problem?? I do have the same one, did uninstall and install 9.3 plus the patch and no luck. It does not happen if I log in to another PC or if someone else logs in to my PC. Could it be the IE 8 version?? I can see the icons , however when click to execute a command a blank window shows up (no functionality). Thank you Parvaneh

Message	Hi, I had to get ESRI to help.I was not told if IE8 was the problem(I did go back to IE7 anyway)!! look at the Performance Tips(KB 32797 & 24666 &19980)if you get into the same sort of problem. Uninstall and install of 9.3 will not help!! Anybody who can not find the article can email me at parvaneh_kossari@harvard.edu and I will send it to you. I do not dare upgrading to IE8 (apprently IE8 came after 9.3. Parvaneh

Message	I have run into the same problem today - opening tools in Arc Toolbox (any of them, be it Clip or some Spatial Analyst tool) opens a blank window. I'm using ArcGIS 9.3 (ArcInfo license). The only new thing I did today was try to process some Lidar data using an extension called GeoLITE. So I tried the following: 1. Uninstalled the extension; didn't work. 2. Downgraded IE8 to IE7; didn't work. 3. Got the correct XML files installed from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324460 ... didn't work. 4. Deleted Normal.mxt, renamed ArcToolbox.dat. Neither helped. 5. Ran the tool I needed immediately (Aggregate in Spatial Analyst) from the command line. Thankfully, that has worked. But what's wrong with the toolbox? Any help would be most welcome. I should maybe mention that I've been using it without any problem since 9.3 was released (and before that ArcToolbox in 9.2 didn't give any problems either), so this is a big mystery..

Message	1. Close ArcCatalog or ArcMap 2. Rename the ESRI folder in your registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/ESRI to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/ESRI_OLD 3. Restart ArcCatalog or ArcMap, this will generate a new folder called ESRI in the same place in the registry. Note: If this does not work, I would try a repair on the install and try again.

Message	I like this forum .I am very interested in GIS .I am a Chinese .In our contury , there are many gis softwares just like MAPGIS SUPERMAP and so on . I hope i can learn more in this GIS forum!
