Hi,
I have a shape-file with country polygons (it would work similarily for other polygons) and now I want to separate it to two files, one with the coastline (outermost boundary - towards the 'universe polygon') and one with the internal country-to-country boundaries.
I know how to do this reasonably easy in ArcInfo workstation, but is there any smarter way to do this within ArcGIS? (if it involves a lot of steps - then I might as well do it in ArcInfo WS)
It would be interesting if one could do this with some smart queries or representations as well...
I doubt that it is that easy though - since the shape-file doesn't know anything about topology.
:)
