Message	Hi I defined the shp file to Projected Coordinate System: NAD_1983_StatePlane_California_V_FIPS_0405_Feet Projection: Lambert_Conformal_Conic Linear Unit: Foot_US first a defined the shp file with the same coordinates next, i chose Geographic Coordinate System: GCS_WGS_1984 Datum: D_WGS_1984 Prime Meridian: Greenwich Angular Unit: Degree then the geographic transformation to 1983_1 the problem: it is still in the same location in the nad 83 coordinates. anyway the main objective is to get it to google maps. or use their API. am I missing a step? your help is appreciated. thanks

Message	The NAD_1983_To_WGS_1984_1 transformation doesn't do anything. It's from the time when NAD83 and WGS84 were almost equivalent. It can still be used when data's accuracy is worse than 1-2 meters. The NAD_1983_To_WGS_1984_5 is a much more current transformation (assumes WGS84 is approximately ITRF00 and NAD83 re-adjusted to CORS96 or HARN). Melita
