Message I have a series of large (100MB to 500MB) comma delimated xyz files. The format looks like:

2156123.023,165651.849,1526.235
2152365.152,165984.156,1524.265
2152645.456,165485.956,1230.264

The xyz file is an export from a gridded surface. I would like to convert this xyz into an ArcGIS GRID without reinterpolating the data.

What is the best way to reformat this xyz file to match the ArcGIS ASCII GRID format shown here?

ncols 4
nrows 6
xllcorner 0.0
yllcorner 0.0
cellsize 50.0
NODATA_value -9999
-9999 -9999 5 2
-9999 20 100 36
3 8 35 10
32 42 50 6
88 75 27 9
13 5 1 -9999

Thank you
