Message	Does anybody know how to draw lines, points and polygons and save it as layer, like in ArcView3.x? I know in ArcView it's feasible to draw some shapes in a empty view and then copy and paste them in a new theme. How to make the same operation in ArcMap? Any comments are welcome! Many thanks!

Message	In ArcGIS, basicaly you have to follow these steps: - Open ArcCatalog and create an empty layer - Open ArcMap and add the empty layer - Add the Editor Toolbar and click on Start Editing - Start drawing the shapes - Don't forget at the end to click on Stop Edit and save the Edits. Message	Hello Wassim, in ArcCatalog it's no way to creat a new empty layer,if you new a layer then you have to choose a data source for that. You mean to creat a new shape and drag it to ArcMap, right?

Message	Hello Again, I meant by layer any of Shapfile/Coverage/Geodatabase. Check the attached image to see where you can create it. And yes, after you create the shapfile, you can drag and drop it in ArcMap Regards,
