Message I want to build a magnifier window of sorts...however, I do not want that window to magnify the previously loaded spatial feature.

When the user clicks on a thumbnail image within a dockable window I've built, I want a magnifier window to appear showing that thumbnail image. When the user zooms in on the main window in ArcMap, I want the image in the magnifier window to zoom in accordingly, but at 100% instead of the default 400%.

Any ideas on how to customize the magnifier window so that I can load whatever I want into it?

Thanks for your smarts.

Message I would suggest to build your own magnifier window using a MapControl, so you could manage its contents, and use ArcMap MapEvents to update its extent. There is a sample implementing an Overview Window with a MapControl here: http://arcobjectsonline.esri.com/default.asp?URL=/ArcObjectsOnline/Samples/Controls/MapControl/DockableOverviewWindow/OverviewDockWin.htm I guess it could be adapted to fit your requirements.
Good luck.

Message Thanks for your suggestion.

I think maybe this should be easier than I wrote last time.

I've made a screen shot of what I've built thus far (attached .bmp file). The image that I want to appear in the "magnifier" window does not need to be a spatially referenced feature class. It's just going to be an image that I want to zoom in to the same extent as the image or feature class that is loaded in ArcMap.

So, maybe I don't want a magnifier window, but simply another window whose zoom extent is tied to the main ArcMap window.

And I'd prefer not using MapControl because I've only got ArcGIS 8.1 on my machine.

Thanks for any ideas!
