Message I have been reading legals and drawing parcel data into autocad map with the Degrees Seconds Minutes and then
converting them into Arcmap. Sometimes I just do it in Arcmap by
using a drawing tool, which takes time b/c i change my direction units
to Degrees, minutes, seconds and just start drawing . In Autocad, I
am able to just type in the deg, min, sec and it draws it for me....is
there a way to do that in Arcmap?

any info would
help...thank you

Message you should be able to start your drawing (polygon, polyline, or point) with it's first vertex and then right click and type in the absolute x/y, direction, and length.

Message is there a way to do it w/o using the absolute x/y direction? I am looking at old surveys and it is all done in deg, min, sec. it seems to me, that there has to be a way to type in those points just like in autocad.

Message How many points do you have? If you do not have many you can use the x/y toolbar of you can use the display x/y tool in the data management toolbox.

Message Have found that AutoCad LandDesktop is the best way to draw a great number of parcels. If you do find a good way of doing so I would be interested in hearing about it...
