Message We just upgraded to VS2008 from 05 and installed the ArcGIS SDK with Visual Studio 2008 integration checked. We have access to all the templates/snippets that are provided with ESRI, however the only thing I see missing is the ArcGIS Snippet Finder.

I read somewhere that it should be there in '08 also, but can't figure out why it is not. Has anyone else had this problem or knows how to correct it?

We still have Visual Studio 2005 w/ IDE integration loaded next to Visual Studio 2008 w/ IDE integ, would that have anything to do with it?

Message Are you looking for it in the right place? The Snippet Finder is located on the context menu that appears when you right-click inside a code module. I'm running ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 and VS2008 and it's available for me.

Message Hi, can anyone please tell me if ArcGIS Snippet Finder is available in Visual C# Express 2008? I can insert snippets in Express but just couldn't find the ArcGIS Snippet Finder in the right-click context menu. Thanks.

Message Yes, I was using it in VS05 with no problem and it was in the same location.

We seemed to have solved the problem by completely removing the entire developer's kit and re-installing everything in it.

I know this for sure, Visual Studio 2008 was installed after 9.3 SDK (9.3 SDK was installed back when VS05 was our primary IDE) and so after VS08 was installed we went under add/remove programs, modified the install and then enabled the Visual Studio 2008 Integration option. My suspicion is that there may be some bug that doesn't properly perform the integration correctly in the installer package when it is out of the correct order by just clicking on that one feature. I tested this on a second machine and sure enough this problem was duplicated in the same manner. We also tried removing/re-adding just the VS08 Integration feature and that didn't work. Completely uninstalling/re-installing the SDK solved it in both cases. Might be helpful for anyone else that runs into this.

Message Sounds like you're right and there's a problem with the installer. I'll have to keep this in mind in case we run into it here. Thanks for posting your findings.
